Some wedding venues are beautiful because of the scenery. Others are meaningful because of the memories they hold. Cliff Ranch in Ovando, Montana is both.
Angelena and Ryan had the honor of being the first couple to be married at Cliff Ranch, making an already unforgettable place even more special. Surrounded by Montana's breathtaking mountains, open fields, a winding river, and horses grazing nearby, the ranch provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that felt deeply personal and wonderfully relaxed.
What made the day even more meaningful was Ryan's connection to the ranch itself. Through his volunteer work, he had spent time at Cliff Ranch helping people navigate trauma and healing. It was a place that had already changed lives long before it became a wedding venue, and gathering family and friends there to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter felt incredibly fitting. You could feel just how much the location meant to everyone in attendance.
One of the things I loved most about photographing this wedding was how effortlessly the landscape became part of the day. The river reflected the evening light, the horses wandered peacefully through the nearby fields, and every direction seemed to reveal another incredible Montana view. It was the kind of setting that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy being present.
Angelena and Ryan embraced every moment. Their ceremony felt intimate despite the expansive landscape surrounding them, and throughout the day they made time to step away together, taking in the beauty of the ranch and soaking in the significance of the day. Those quiet moments, framed by endless skies and towering mountains, became some of my favorite photographs from their celebration.
As the sun began to dip lower across the valley, the ranch seemed to glow.
